I got a bunch of hits today from a discussion about the duclod man. I thought you might find the article that prompted their discussion interesting.

that is creepy...
Creep factor WAY past high.
More and more often I'm finding my anger at creeps infused with pity though. Even some of the most unlikely sorts of folks. Wonder what that's about?
weird.
why be obsessed with bisexuals, of all things?
i think this goes way past creepy into the realm of icky. i suddenly feel like taking another shower.
Well, you learn something new every day...
We've got a guy like that in the Twin Cities. He's all about race mixing. Whenever there's a public anti-racist event, he sends letters to the white people full of racist clippings. He was tracked down and outed a few years ago. Some bitter old man. Ick.
Interestingly, a colleague of mine who went to Grinnell writes me that this was happening as far back as the '70s...
eeeeek.
and the almost-creepiest part is i totally get the author's weird look-into-the-abyss trip. but, ew.
he sounds like he's got some high-functioning paranoid schizophrenia going on, she armchair'd. (the weird portmanteaus, for one thing). among other things. so yeah, pity, too, but...
yeah, that's got a very Gacy sort of vibe to it, hasn't it? brrr.
I really enjoyed Sarah's articles too, until I started examining them. I found no less than eleven factual problems with her article. Is "Richard" really as psychotic as he seems? What was Sarah's motivation? I've outlined my findings here: http://saveourskyline.livejournal.com/1127.html
